Statement from the President on the Situation in Ukraine

TATEHATA Akira, President

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia that began in February is an attempt to unilaterally change the status quo and impose its own claims by force. It is unacceptable by any means. We strongly protest against the continuing expansion of this disastrous war and sincerely hope that a peaceful resolution will be reached through dialogue and negotiation as soon as possible. Tama Art University is currently considering how we can support the people of Ukraine who have suffered the ravages of war, as well as the students who aspire to pursue art despite the difficult circumstances. We will compile a concrete plan as soon as possible to announce on our website.
