1971年 大阪府生まれ。京都市立芸術大学美術学部卒業。
伊藤は動植物や人などをモチーフに、おもに刺繍作品を制作している。「縫って描く」独自のアプローチで、具体的に見えているもの、当然だと思っていることの多様性を模索している。縫い付けられた糸は複雑に交じり合い、隆起したり途切れたりしながら、私たちの意識に入り込んでくる。近年は昆虫などの生物をフィールドワーク的に取材し、刺繍作品に展開するシリーズを制作。2006年に「作品集的刺繍入門書」として著書『NEW TOWN』を刊行した。
Born in Osaka in 1971, Zon Ito graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts.
The needlework pieces he creates employ motifs of plants, animals, and humans. With his signature approach of "drawing by sewing,"
he explores the diversity inherent in all that we see and take for granted in everyday life. The threads sewn into his needlework are intertwined in complex ways, forming bumps and gaps, working their way into the viewer's consciousness. In recent years, he has been developing a series of embroidered works in which living creatures, such as insects, have become the subject of focus based on his own fieldwork. In 2006, he published NEW TOWN, a collection of his work that can also be used as an introductory book for embroidery.
